This project began with the client wanting to add 4000sf of basement to their existing house with minimal impact on the existing structure so the clients could remain living there during constrcution. The design was situated under an existing motor court driveway adjacent to the structure.
The front door and part of the mud room needed to be excavated to make the future connection to the house.
This is the future stair and elevator connection from the existing mud room to the new 4000sf below grade addition.
Construction worked through the winter months.
Precast concrete planks were used as the roof to the addition in order to allow vehicle traffic to access the existing grarages.
